Most people who desire to leave a mark on the world, desire to leave behind a legacy. A legacy to take care of one’s family, a legacy which that person’s character, talents and skills or message influenced the many, a legacy in which those behind, not live up to, but to take those principles which guided that one’s path to being influential and apply that formula to yourself, because the only real obstacle one have is one’s self. Get over yourself, the world is your oyster. You can do or be anything. The doubters, critics, haters, will always be there, there to guide you, there to throw you off track, there to see you fall and rise and maybe fall again. But use them as those who are helping you build your strong sense of character, because they don’t define you, you define you. But, they help you in the process of becoming that mark on the world, and leaving that legacy behind. So, love it all, the beginnings, the journey, the middles, ups and downs, the end which is either celebratory or celebratory, cause although you may fail, you love every moment of it along the way. That is living to the fullest, that is life. - M. Williams
To footwear designer Andreia Chaves, each shoe is an individual work of art. Raised in the busy metropolis of Sao Paulo, Brazil – Chaves understands that beauty can be found in chaos, a concept that reveals itself in her footwear designs. She explains this in her own words,
“The fact that I grew up in a chaotic city like Sao Paulo, full of contrasts, being in contact with such diversity and constant exposure to different visual inputs, has inspired me in how I think and conceptualize my shoes. Looking at my work, I can clearly see influence coming from my South American sense of versatility. Also in the mix - what I have been experiencing in Europe.”
During her time in Florence, Italy, she’s been intensely studying form, texture & visual effect, and experimenting with different materials on footwear design. Check out some more of her designs after the jump:
